This is the best apricot conserve I have ever eaten!
Divine. Not too sweet, delicious. I use in omelette, on plain yoghurt, toast, you name it.
What is a conserve vs preserves or jam? The Frog Hollow apricot conserve is a jar of organic California-grown apricot halves cooked in a rich apricot sauce, so it's soft enough to spread on toast but still recognizable as fruit. They do add sugar, wish they did not. It's a fresher-tasting spread than grocery store apricot preserves, and the fruit is domestic which is nice to know (the Mediterranean apricots are sweeter and blander). Each piece of toast gets one half-apricot, so for these small jars, it's about a week of conserve if you share it. (You won't want to!). The apricot conserve sells out by late October, I wish they made more (for holiday gifts).
This is hands down the best fruit spread I’ve tasted. It’s as if the apricots were smashed and jarred.
