What does farm-to-pantry mean?

Most fruit that is grown in the commercial sector is not saleable through traditional retail channels. Grocers will only accept cosmetically perfect fruit that is of a specific size range and which must be harvested underripe to survive the transportation and sales chain. The reality is that the bulk of any grower's harvest does not fall into this narrow category. A shocking amount of food is wasted in the United States. In our state of California alone, 7.35 million tons of produce went unsold or uneaten in 2022.

At Frog Hollow, we utilize as much of the harvest as possible to ensure nothing is being wasted. Our Farm Kitchen, just steps from our orchard, transforms cosmetically challenged or ultra-ripe fruit into an incredible array of artisan foods you can enjoy year-round bringing our farm to your pantry.

How does your soup delivery service work?

Customers ordering soup from Frog Hollow Farm receive two 32 oz. containers, both shipped frozen. As with other perishable items we sell, our soups spend no more than two business days in the mail.

Our soups can be stored in the freezer until you're ready to cook them. At this point, you're advised to defrost the soup fully and then cook it within one to two days. Any leftovers can be refrozen. Please note that the containers holding the soup should not be heated in the microwave.
