Try out Farmer Al’s favorite scone for yourself! Chef Becky chops up dates for sweetness and chewiness, and zests fresh organic oranges for a bright pop of citrus flavor. This Orange and Date Scone is light and crumbly on the outside, but soft on the inside, and has a lovely floral quality that pairs perfectly with a fragrant herbal tea or a good strong cup of English Breakfast. Enhance the orange flavor of this scone with a dab of our Organic Navel Orange Marmalade to complete your meal.

 

This product is perishable and ships chilled. Keep frozen until baking. Pre-heat your oven to 375°. For convection ovens, lower the given temperature to 350°. If your pastries brown too quickly, cover them with a loose sheet of foil. We include parchment sheets with each shipment and recommend that you use them to line your baking tray. For a golden brown crust, brush the dough with cream, milk, or an egg-wash. Sweet pastries may be sprinkled with sugar if desired. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Best Scones Ever

I haven’t had scones this good since High Teas in British Columbia and London. Excellent texture. Light and airy. Serve with sweet butter, or clotted cream, if you can get it. Note: I had to bake them longer than called for on the recipe card. Every oven is different.
