Warren Pear Crostini with Blue Cheese and Pepper Jelly

This is an easy to assemble decadent appetizer showcasing our organic fall fruit and some of our delicious jarred products.



1 Sweet batard, sliced into ½” thick pieces

1 lb Warren pear, thinly sliced with mandolin

2 oz Apricot Pepper Jelly

5oz blue cheese

1 Pomegranate, deseeded

1 shallot, thinly sliced into rings

Basil or other winter green such as frise or radicchio, torn

½ cup of olive oil plus more for garnish

1 tbsp champagne vinegar

Salt to taste



  1. Coat both sides of sliced bread with extra virgin olive oil. Place the bread on the grill, or bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 5 minutes or until crisp
  2. While the bread is in the oven slice shallots and place in a small bowl with a pinch of salt and champagne vinegar
  3. Spread a thin layer of pepper jelly over bread
  4. Spread a layer of blue cheese over the pepper jelly
  5. Thinly slice the pear with the mandolin
  6. Layer the pear on top of the blue
  7. Garnish the toasts with pomegranate, basil /winter green, and shallots
  8. Drizzle with olive oil
  9. Serve
