I was told about the Frog Hollow Farm, Holiday Fruitcake, by my sister as she bought one last year. The other company that we would buy Fruit Cake from is no longer around. I bought two Fruit Cakes, and one is completely eaten already. Even my Girlfriend who doesn't normally like Fruit Cake ate and liked the Frog Hollow Farm, Holiday Fruitcake. One of the things that attracted her was the smell of the Rum. Will be buying them again next year.

But I did find one. Great flavors. Especially like the rum. The dried fruits and spices are perfect.

I love fruitcake, which is ironic because growing up, there was a fruitcake tin that was passed around my family every Christmas, with jokes that its actual value was as a doorstop. I have tried (almost) every brand of fruitcake, and recently read a review about the fruitcake from Frog Hollow Farm. I was first hesitant to order due to the size and total cost. I'm so glad I did! When I opened the tin and saw the love that went into making and wrapping this fruitcake, I knew I was in for a treat. This fruitcake is dense yet moist and contains the perfect balance of delicious homemade dried and candied fruit, walnuts, spices, and, of course, rum. It was wrapped in rum-infused cheesecloth, and the overall balance of these ingredients delivers a truly remarkable, but not overly sweet, artisanal fruitcake.
I did make one error... I should have ordered 2.

This fruitcake is different in many ways from the usual. There are no artificially colored, red and green cherries. The fruits and nuts are cut into small pieces and distributed evenly throughout the cake. The cake itself is very dense and cohesive. And the flavor: delicious, with a spicy scent, hinting of the rum that’s one of the ingredients. Yes, it’s relatively expensive, but it’s well worth it, as only small slice provides a satisfying serving. It’s now our favorite fruitcake!
