Grilled Cara Cara Vodka Tonic

Yield: makes 1 cocktail

Time: 10 minutes


  • 1 ¼ slice of Cara Cara
  • 2 oz. Vodka (we used Luna Sea vodka from Santa Cruz)
  • 2 oz. Cara Cara juice
  • 2 oz. tonic
  • 2 oz. soda
  • Kosher salt


Build a medium-heat fire in a charcoal grill, or heat a gas grill to medium. (Alternatively, heat a cast-iron grill pan over medium-high.) Place the Cara Cara on grill and cook, turning once, until lightly charred, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside.

In an ice-filled rocks glass, add vodka and Cara Cara juice. Top with tonic and soda, and garnish with grilled grapefruit slice sprinkled with Kosher salt.
