Rich and delicious but never cloying, this vinegar is made from fermented bananas in Veracruz, Mexico. You don't come across something as wonderful as this everyday. Our mild, fruity vinegar comes from the Casa Stivalet plantation in the beautiful state of Veracruz. Unlike some flavored vinegars, this isn't plain vinegar with banana flavor added; it's made from fermented platano machos, a breed of bananas somewhere between a regular banana and a plantain.

Steve Sando of Rancho Gordo began selling heirloom beans at farmers markets after experiencing an epiphany with his first harvest of Rio Zape. He now runs an operation in Napa, California satisfying heirloom bean cravings around the country. Best Vinegar for salads!

I was looking for Banana Vinegar as I was told that it’s good for salads and in fact it’s the best for salads.
