Organic Yuzu

Regular price $39.99

A unique hybrid of Ichang papeda (a primitive citrus) and a sour mandarin orange creates the wonderful Yuzu Fruit. Originating in China, the Yuzu is most recognized for its wide cultivation in Japan. Giving zest a new meaning, the rare golfball size Yuzu fruit propels a fascinating fragrance. Yuzu enhances juices, soy sauces, miso toppings, ponzu sauces, and vinegars with its zest. Yuzu’s less sharp and more subtle flavor than lemon, allows its fruitiness to enhance great flavors. The slightest cut to Yuzu green-yellow rind allows the most distinct complex aroma of lime, lemon, and grapefruit. Pleasant aromatic zest from fresh Yuzu is the rage at high-end restaurants, for cocktails, savory dishes, and sweets.

A Rare Treasure

The Yuzu fruit is not a fruit that many people come across. It is a fruit from Japan that is unlike any other citrus found in the market. It doesn’t have much juice but the little but it does carry, along with its zest, provide so much bright flavor to everything from the sauces to elegant desserts. Please continue to grow and provide this rare gem of fruits.

Do you yuzu?

Package arrived well insulated and nice color and texture to the fruit. It’s a special occasion to have fresh yuzu so I’m happy this farm grows them.

A box of Yuzu

Figuring out how to use 3 pounds of Yuzu was a wonderful puzzle. The fruit arrived ripe and ready to use. It was my first experience of Yuzu. The flavor filled the kitchen. Mostly, I want more.
