Roasted Pears and Red Onions

This agrodolce combination of roasted pears and red onions will be the talk of at your next family dinner!


  • 2 Pears, cut into quarters and cored
  • 3 Medium sized red onions, cut into a blossom or into 8 pieces
  • 6 ounces of unsalted butter, thinly sliced
  • Quality balsamic vinegar to taste
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Season the pears and the onions with salt and pepper, and toss. Place a parchment paper and spread mixture in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Scatter thinly slice butter on the top and roast, turning pieces occasionally, until golden brown, about 40 -50 minutes.
