Nicknamed “The Honeybell” because of its bell shape, the Minneola tangelo is a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit. Its large size and slightly elongated “neck” make it easy to recognize. The most popular of the tangelos, these seedless Minneolas are bright & tart.

What Are They? A hybrid that results from the cross of a Dancy tangerine and a grapefruit.
Origins/History:  A cross between the Bowen grapefruit and Dancy tangerine. First released in 1931 in Florida by the US Department of Agriculture.
Nutritional Value:  Citrus fruits contribute to a healthful, nutritious diets. Citrus is one of the best sources of Vitamin C and is low in calories and sodium.
How to cut/peel:  Easy to peel and the membranes separate easily.
Serving Suggestions:  Eaten out of hand, in salads, in desserts.
