Are you in the mood for an apple - or a pear? With Asian pears’ round shape, light, crisp texture and refreshingly fruity flavor, you get the best of both worlds.

Asian pears - also known as Nashi or Chinese, Japanese or Korean pears based on origins - have a satisfying crunch reminiscent of an apple but with a sweet and nutty pear taste. They are spectacular when eaten as is or sliced into salads.

Appearance varies: As you can see from our selection, skin ranges from a bronzed tan with a rough, pebbled texture to yellow-green, smooth and almost apple-like.

Unlike most of the fruit we sell, Asian pears can be stored in a home refrigerator without any loss in taste or texture - perfect for stocking up and snacking on.

Just as with European varieties, Asian pears provide a source of fiber for your diet, as well as vitamins A, C and K and beta-carotene, and minerals magnesium, calcium, potassium and iron.

When you enjoy your Asian pears, keep in mind that this is how fruit is supposed to taste.
