Rediscover classic American heirloom apples like the Arkansas Black that were mostly lost during the 20th century.  It is tart but also balanced in flavor with a deep purple, almost black skin that matches its complex flavors.  This apple was known to last all winter in pioneer’s cellars as it has a thick skin with a heavy natural protective wax.

Decent apples

So I love that we are keeping around the heirloom varieties. But if I’m honest, for an eating out 0f hand apple, a Fuji or cosmic crisp is better. It was fun to try though.

Excellent apples, not quite my taste

The apples were well-packaged, arrived promptly, and were crisp and firm. Since I've never had these apples before I was excited to try them. They were very winey and complex, not tart like a Macoun or sweet like a Honeycrisp. Not my favorite taste in apples, but very glad I tried them and the company did a great job.

Just ok

Very hard and not very juicy. They were beautiful looking though.
