Kumquats aren't much bigger than a grape, yet this bite-sized fruit fills your mouth with a big burst of sweet-tart citrus flavor. In Chinese, kumquat means "golden orange." Farmer Al recommends rubbing the kumquat fruit between your palms to soften the texture and release the beautiful aromatics. Then eat it whole!
It can be difficult to know where to buy kumquats because they are not widely grown by commercial producers. At Frog Hollow, we grow unique and delicious fruits like the golden orange and seek out farm partners who share our commitment to bringing unique fruits to market.

Our regenerative organic practices not only produce great fruit, but they also provide important ecosystem and climate benefits. We build soil health by composting, planting cover crops, and not tilling. The soil contains thriving communities of beneficial microbes and fungi that fertilize our trees. And we are fighting climate change by building the carbon storage capacity of our soil. Our orchards store an average of 29 tons of carbon per acre – that’s the equivalent of taking 1,488 passenger vehicles off the road for one year!
