Recently Frog Hollow Farm in Brentwood, formed "Happy Child" CSA. Frog Hollow Farm strives to increase awareness of sustainable farming within our local communities. We want to develop personal relationships with our customers and bring people to the land, and most importantly appreciate the land and the farmers who grow their food.
Many of you already buy FHF Fruit at Farmers' Markets and may ask "how does the CSA differ from the Farmer's market where I can get whatever I want, in the quantities I want. Our response is :
- Convenience-Weekly boxes or 1/2 boxes delivered to a pick-up spot in your neighborhood insures your weekly fruit needs without a trip to the Farmers' market. Usually, the amount of fruit in a delivery will supplement a family of four's requirement for a week.
- There are never any obligations. You pick your schedule, weekly, every-other-week. Going on vacation? No problem, we will suspend delivery until you return.
- Weekly newsletters informing you of farm news, recipes, varietal notes, storage and handling recommendations and more.
- Invitations to visit the farm for in-depth farm tours by Farmer Al, potlucks, "tastings", guest speakers, and Harvest Celebrations featuring great chefs from around the Bay!
- Unusual fruits in your basket that may not appear at the farmers market because of limited supply.
- Year round supplies of fruit that we may not grow ourselves but can get from other organic growers we know...eg. Great, incredibly sweet Valencia oranges, or navels, or rare antique apple varieties etc. Kiwi, cherimoyas, sapotes, avocados the list goes on...
- We make payment easy too! We take checks, Visa, MC, American Express. For your convenience, you can arrange an automatic payment through us.
