Frog Hollow Farm

Organic Flavor Fall Pluots

Size

This late-season pluot variety brings our stone fruit season to a close. These pluots are dark-skinned with a golden colored, firm, juicy flesh, with a very mild aroma, complementing an appealing, balanced sweet and tart flavor.

They're fun to share with others because no one knows what to expect from this fruit. Will it be sweet? Will it be tart? Take a bite and find out!

Their crisp texture makes them perfect for slicing over cereal in the morning, adding to fruit salads at lunch, and serving with appetizers in the evening. They're great to bake with too.

Pluots imperfect in appearance with large brown scarring on skin.

Gift Recipient said they were sweet. .So I am confused. I hope this gift was acceptable. I am wondering if this should be addressed by frog hollow to explain that pluots are natural and organic and may have surface imperfections but that the fruit should be sweet and delicious. Quality products are very important when sending a gift that is expensive and is essentially a few pieces of fruit. Primo quality is the desired goal.

Unusual.

I am sooo sorry the season of the pluot is behind us. (Not that I don't like whatever lies ahead...) These fellas arrived rock-hard two weeks ago, and they haven't fully ripened yet. Some of them have started getting a tad wizened, which I take as a sign it's Time to Eat, and the ones I have eaten are delicious. Very tart, with a lot of crunch -- certainly different from their high-summer cousins. Never met a FHF pluot I didn't like. If I can stop eating them long enough, I'm thinking of trying them baked, maybe a little whipped cream on top.
