Citrus and Avocado Salad with Charred Shallots


  • 1 small shallot, sliced thin and sautéed’ until nicely caramelized
  • ½ Avocado, diced
  • 1 Navel orange, skin removed and supreme into segments
  • 1 Grapefruit skin removed and supreme into segments
  • 1/3 cup of raw peanuts, pan-roasted until lightly browned
  • Few sprigs of cilantro
  • 1 serrano pepper, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup of tamari
  • 1 tsp. of sugar
  • 1 tsp. of lime juice
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


On a small serving platter place the ingredients to your liking. Dress and season to taste.

Serve at once.
