We love our markets and the people who shop at them. For us, our customers have become extended members of our family. Over the years we hear about where they went on vacation, what college their oldest child will be going to in the fall and what books they recommend. It's delightful. It also allows us the opportunity to experience firsthand our fruit through others' palates. We listen to how texture is important to some, tartness to others. How some people hate the fuzz of a peach but love the pop of the skin on a ripe plum. Farmers' markets are our way of keeping a finger on the pulse of our fruit fans. When we introduce a new variety, we listen to how our customers feel about it. If the feedback is mostly negative, trees are pulled out and new ones planted - sometimes with old stand-bys like the Cal-Red or the Suncrest. You don't need something new.
