The Vice Minister of Commerce from the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Jiang Yaoping, included Frog Hollow Farm on his list of bay area visits today, which also include HP and Cisco. His agenda? No, not the peaches…. not the cherries either. He was impressed with our pears - but the main reason for his visit had to do with eCommerce and Frog Hollow Farm’s model for selling our legendary fruit online.
As you would expect, Mr Jiang arrived with his entourage.
Straight to business… Mr. Jiang sat down with Farmer Al to learn about the history of Frog Hollow Farm and our experiences with selling fruit on our website.
Impressed with our many varieties of stone fruit, pastries, and conserves – they were especially interested in the Frog Hollow Farm Olive Oil.
Focused on our website, Mr. Jiang was fascinated with the new froghollow.com.
Our short visit and meeting ended with Farmer Al and Becky giving Mr. Jiang a taste of Frog Hollow – some delicious pastries and pears!
And in return, Mr. Jiang presented Farmer Al and Frog Hollow Farm a traditional gift from China.
It was great to hear about their focus on farming and eCommerce in China. We really enjoyed meeting Mr. Jiang and felt honored to be included on his trip to the Bay Area.
